Ways To Keep Yourself Preoccupied Aboard Long Flights

A vacation sure is fun, but not taking long plane flights to get there. No one really wants to be stuck in a seat amongst strangers for many hours. You just want to get to your destination right away to begin making the most out of your trip. But if you plan for it really carefully, there are some ways which can make your air travel seem shorter.

It's important to come up with a checklist of items you should pack. This is especially true when it comes to the contents of your hand-carried items. The following are some tips to help keep you preoccupied until you reach your destination.

Remember to pack some magazines. Or even if you forget to do so, you can always pick up some at the airport newsstand. Some people prefer magazines as you can simply dispose of them after reading. It's during lengthy plane travel that you can finally start reading a paperback novel you once bought. Whether self-help or suspense books, just make sure what you got in your luggage is interesting for you to finish.

Keep from bringing aboard the plane something that produces loud and annoying sounds. Even if you hand-carry your ibanez acoustic electric guitar or a similar instrument, never attempt to play it in there. For your portable music and video players, use a headphone each time you're using them. The same is true with your pocket gaming console. You may not make any friends during the flight, but you sure don't need to make enemies by disturbing others.

If you have your laptop with you, you may start drafting your travel journal right away. It's best to start your writing when everything is as fresh on your mind as possible. Also, it's a great time to do some reports or other documents regarding the workplace. When you come back from your trip, impress your boss by handing in some finished manuscripts.

Never forget to stash in your luggage an eye mask. It will help tremendously in giving your some much-needed shuteye. Sleeping during long plane flights will keep boredom at bay. And it will also prepare you for all the exploring, shopping and partying once you reach your destination.

When the seatbelt light is off, it's okay to do some form of working out. But not the kind you learned from your personal trainer. A simple walking up and down the aisle is a great way to keep normal blood circulation in your lower limbs. You may also wiggle your toes and move your feet from side to side while sitting down. During stopovers, grab the opportunity to do some walking in and around the airport's vicinity.
